Production: Clos Robert has been the crowning achievement of my
career. I started the project in Napa in 1985...at a facility on Cuttings Wharf Road that was under utilized by my former employer . We bought grapes, custom crushed them elsewhere and blended afterwards with a "spice-rack" of wines from our neighbors. We hoped to achieve wines that had the best qualities California grapes had to offer, but looking for the end result to achieve the level of elegance and finesse found with both Bordeaux and Burgundy wines from France.
