Nestled in the northeast region of France, Alsace is one of the driest areas for viticulture in all of France. Grapes here are traditionally trellised very high.
The Pautre estate is in Ligorelle, on the Northwestern edge of the appellation. The vines are 30 to 40 years old, and located on a calciferous plateau, beside a forest, facing south. This truly is the best area for the Petit Chablis Appellation. Monsieur Pautre is passionate about quality, and his wine is the traditional ”profile” of what a great Chablis should taste like.
